Youth Support Program

The Youth Support Program is a free to join program through The Local Charity’s Community Development team.

This program is designed to help young people between the ages of 16 and 29 who need support navigating employment challenges and/or need referrals to community and social services.

 

The program provides access to employment skills development, education/training, volunteer experiences, and community and social services.

 

The goal is to give one-on-one support to young people who are taking incremental steps towards achieving their short-term and long-term goals. 

WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR?​

​

  • Between 16 and 29 years of age (inclusive).

  • Youth that are registered with The Local Charity

  • Youth who are looking for work, volunteer or internships

  • Youth who are looking for referrals to community and social services

  • A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

  • Referrals to community and social services.
